Doug's bday is today 🥳 so we're making his favorite childhood meal! Turos Csusza is a Hungarian egg noodle dish made with bacon, cottage cheese and sour cream. Last year I asked his mom Andrea to teach me how to make it the right way and here it is! Happy birthday @dooglaas 🤍

What you need

1 cup sour cream

1 lb bacon

16 oz wide egg noodles

24 oz cottage cheese

Instructions

1. Bring a pot of lightly salted water to a boil.
2. Cut the bacon into 1” pieces and cook in a pan over medium heat until crispy.
3. Boil the egg noodles until tender (tender is better than al dente for this dish) and then strain into a colander, do not rinse.
4. Immediately transfer the noodles back into the hot pot and add the bacon (include some of the bacon grease) and cottage cheese.
5. Mix together for one minute or until the cottage cheese is heated through and enjoy with a dollop of sour cream on top!
